The Elohim Child Development Association provides a home and a support network for orphaned or abandoned children in rural areas of Uganda. These children have ended up with us for a wide variety of reasons and every child has a different story. Some were orphaned by HIV/AIDS and some by tragic road accidents, some came to us because their families no longer wanted them whilst others arrived with families who still loved them but could no longer care for them.
We currently have over 20 children who we care for full-time by providing the basic needs of food, clothing, housing, medical care and schooling. We also care for and assist a number other children who may have a home to stay in but are still in need of some basic necessities or guidance.
Based in Bombo Town, Central Uganda (see below), Elohim was founded on March 12th 2008 as a Community Based Organization (reg.CD-128). We have since grown and are now a registered NGO; Elohim Development Organization (reg.S.5914/8893) effective January 28, 2011. We are also registered as a charitable organization in the US (EIN No. 90-0654885).
